We were very sad to learn that Bob Swetland passed away on June 8. A service will be held on Saturday 12 June, 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont. The obituary notice is here.

30 March 2010 - Concert at Ste-Anne's
We tried out our Spring program at the Ste-Anne's Veterans Hospital. The band played well, and the concert was well-received.

12 January 2010 - Executive Meeting
The music committee will give Ted a set of about 15 pieces to try out over the next two or three weeks, so that we can decide on what to play at the Spring concert. Comments on the Christmas party were good, and the executive will plan something similar for the 2010 party. Elections for the executive will be held next September. The executive resolved to look at ways to improve the commentary between pieces at our concerts.

15 December 2009 - Last rehearsal of the year, followed by a delightful
supper downstairs. Many thanks to Jacques and his wife for preparing everything!
13 December 2009 - We performed three Christmas concerts in six days to
appreciative audiences. The band played well. Richard managed to record the
performance at l'Entrpôt; you can listen to them on the
Recordings page.
24 November 2009 - Johanne Boisvert took quite a few pictures of the band
at a rehearsal a few weeks ago... See them here.
17 November 2009 - The cookies were particularly delicious this evening!
10 November 2009 - On arrival for the rehearsal, some members found the back door locked!
After urgent consultations, one clever member came up with the ingenious idea of walking
around to the front entrance. This plan was put into effect, and the traumatic experience
of missing a rehearsal was narrowly averted.
27 October 2009 - We begin preparing for our Christmas concerts.
24 October 2009 - We played before a very appreciative audience at
Greenfield Park United Church. We later received this note from a member
of the organizing committee at the church:
On behalf of the Greenfield Park United Church, I would like to say a hearty thank you for such a wonderful concert. Your repertoire was amazing. You had something for everyone. From where I was sitting at the back, everyone was tapping their toes, swaying their bodies or bobbing their heads to the rhythm. The smiles and complimentary comments we received were outstanding and the attendance exceeded our expectations. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

- the Christmas party will take place on Tues. Dec. 15 - venue and format still to be determined
- concert at the Greenfield Park United Church on Saturday, Oct. 24
- possible concerts at Foyer Dorval, Foyer Lachine and l'Entrepôt in December
- elections for the executive are coming up soon, as soon as the executive can figure out how they're supposed to be held
